Honors Celebrations

The Honors Celebration is arguably the most exciting Honors College tradition established at The University of Maine.  An Honors Dean who will remain nameless has been known to mention that it's his favorite day of the year.  On the morning of the day before commencement, all of the Honors graduates, their advisors, and families and friends gather to celebrate their achievements and to share a hearty brunch.  At the ceremony, each graduate's name, thesis title and thesis advisor are announced.  The graduate is then presented with her/his Medallion, Honors Vase and Honors College graduation certificate. In addition, the achievements of several undergraduate award winners are recognized.

We encourage you to experience the feeling for yourself...we cannot express in words the feelings of pride and pleasure that are associated with celebrating such accomplishments.
