This search engine will allow you to
find information about many of the over 800 theses that
have been written in Honors since its inception at The University of Maine in 1935.
You can search for any word/number or phrase that might be part of
the author's name, title, year, subject, or advisor's
name.
The thesis handbook
provides information for authors, advisors, and
committee members of Honors Theses. Included in
the material are the answers to questions concerning
topics, formats, and deadlines.
Thesis forms
Forms are in PDF format -- they require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and
print.
Many of the departments
and programs at The University of Maine accept a
completed Honors Thesis, in the major or a closely
related area and with a faculty member from the
department as advisor, as an alternative senior capstone
experience. In some cases, there may be additional
requirements; for information specific to your
department, please consult with your advisor or
department chair. [This is an ongoing
initiative; check back often!]
The reading list is one of the things that distinguishes The Honors College
at The University of Maine from other similar programs. We believe that our Honors students should not only excel in their classes and produce independent scholarship in their chosen disciplines, but that they should have a strong foundation across the breadth of
ideas and perspectives.
