Study Abroad Scholarships

[Currently no scholarships are available.  Information will be posted here should this change.]

In order to qualify for the Honors College Study Abroad Scholarship, a student must

  • be studying abroad as a second-semester, second-year student, having completed Honors 111, 112, and 211;

  • be studying abroad as a third-year student, having completed Honors 111, 112, 211, and 212 and with specific plans to complete a third-year tutorial or the study abroad tutorial portfolio; or

  • be studying abroad as a first-semester, fourth-year student, having completed Honors 111, 112, 211, and 212, with specific plans to complete a third-year tutorial or the study abroad tutorial porfolio, and with a plan, submitted in writing, to complete the Honors thesis.

  • have a current gpa of at least 3.3

Qualified proposals for the scholarship will be judged on the following criteria:

  • academic record, with particular emphasis on Honors College courses;

  • financial need, with consideration of the cost of the study abroad program; and

  • study abroad essay on the importance of the study abroad experience to you that will accompany your application.

Deadlines for scholarship applications:

  • For Fall Academic Year: 15 April

  • For Spring: 15 October

N.B. Each student is only eligible for a single Study Abroad Scholarship, regardless of the number of semesters s/he is studying abroad.
